The Ocean
Salty air has always been an aphrodisiac for me.
I’ve walked along your succulent shores
for as many days as I could count—waiting for you.
Finally,
You came.
The setting sun casted a tangerine glow across your body.
I sat close beside you
and let your waves wash over my breasts.
Each one brought with it the sensation of your touch,
caressing my secret places.
I trembled as you released me
and retreated; taking with you
any morsel of passion that might have possibly
remained for another.
Empty,
I stood up, took off my skirt
and wrung it angrily, as if to dismiss you;
as if to abort your having been inside of me.
The setting sun casted a tangerine glow across your body.
I walked along your succulent shores
and pretended that that day never happened.
