Nightingale’s sweet song silenced in most of Britain deforestation In the last 50 years the population of Nightingales has fallen by 90% . The birds nest at ground level but Medway Council in Kent have still designated an area at Lodge Hill where the birds breed to be suitable to build thousands of new houses:-( 5/6/18

It's disgusting destroying one set of 'homes' to build new houses for man and all so the developers can line their pockets or should I say feather their own nests:-( hugs jan xx

ahh, it's all so sad, Jan. So many animals are dying off. I heard in 20 years, our kids won't ever have seen tighers, pandas, lions, etc etc. Maybe there will be a few zoos in the world and they will make a hefty profit for people will be dying to see these lost breeds of animals.

It's a travesty that they are happy to destroy a natural habitat so that people can have new homes:-( hugs jan xx

A meaningful and moving haiku, Jan. The nightingales sweet song is truly enchanting and their plight is so sad - thank you for raising the awareness - it's such a shame to lose the beauty and pleasure they bring. I love birds and this just breaks my heart..

Man is responsible for so much devastation of animals natural habitat, it is heartbreaking to think they would prefer human habitation rather than leave the birds in a safe environment:-( hugs jan xx
