The New Me
The New Me.
From today I shall only write fine poems
go to the local poetry reading club and
be adored by female fans.
Honey will drip from my lips and I will
wear flowers in my hair and there will
be a flood of happy tears.
In Paris I read poetry about the Roma
people and the plight of the Palestinians,
the silence still rings in my ears.
