The mind of a sinful man is death, but a life yielded to the Spirit Romans 8:6 part seven
The mind of a sinful man is death, but a life yielded to the Spirit Romans 8:6 part seven
Life Through the Spirit continued
The mind of a sinful man is death, but a life yielded to the Spirit is life and
peace; the sinful mind is hostile to God. It does not submit to God's law,
nor can it do so. [Hereby, the sinful mind also, does not want to submit
to God's law.] Those controlled by a sinful nature cannot please God.
Romans 8:6-8 [ Neither, do they want to ever please God, but their sins]
You, however, are not controlled by the sinful nature, but by the Spirit, if
the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of
Christ, he does not belong to Christ. But if Christ is in you, your [mortal]
body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteous
ness. And if the [Holy] Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is
living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your
mortal bodies through his Spirit who lives in you. Romans 8:9-11
[It was It was the same Holy Spirit of God that raised Christ from the dead
that will also likewise raise all those who have renewed minds from the dead.]
Therefore brothers, we have an obligation--but it is not to the sinful nature,
to live according to it. For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will
die; but if by the Spirit, you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will
live, because those who are lead by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For
you did not receive a Spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you
received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father." The
Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children. Now if we
are children, than we are heirs--heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ,
if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we might also share in
his glory. Romans 8: 12-17.
This testimony is true. Therefore, rebuke them sharply, so that will be sound
in the faith and will pay no attention to Jewish myths or to the commands of
those who reject the truth. To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who
are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds
and consciences are corrupted. They claim to know God, but by their actions
they deny him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything
good. Titus 1:13-16.
These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They
worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by men. Matt 15:8
