The Millstone River

In the middle of this bustling town
There is a piece of heaven, serenely so.
A place where one can relax and sit down
On benches placed there to watch the river flow.

Around this piece of river a park was made
To showcase the waterfall in all it's grace.
White frothy waterfall turns to river of jade.
You will find nowhere more lovely than this place.

The manmade duck ponds, gardens and trails
Are a feature of pride for local towns folk,
But against this river God created... it pales
And often of it, by pen and word, I've spoke.

What a great source of inspiration you have at the Millstone River, Francine. I can picture it so clearly with your words -- the waterfall, duck ponds, gardens and trails. How nice to have a "piece of heaven" in a bustling town. Thanks so much for reading my poems, Francine. Hope you enjoyed Canada Day and I'm looking forward to being with my sister on the Fourth of July. Have a great weekend! Love, Carolyn
