The Mechanics of the Mundane Aka the Daily Grind of the Sub Conscious Mind

Inspired after writing the ekphrasis on Hoppers Rooms by the Sea by thinking of it's alternative name The Jumping Off Place. I like the idea of picking an idea and going with it I picked nothing much from my surroundings and quickly wrote something down about it to see what appeared. The clock ticks and tocks I always hear a stutter on the tock Always have I used to listen to see if it will make it round this time Pass on the baton effectively It usually does I presume it's the teeth in the cogs Each one with it's own little note That we, the untrained ears, call ticks and tocks When actually what is playing out is a masterpiece That the pendulum doesn't deserve all the credit for

I was quite delighted with the whole thing, the idea of just writing about the first thing that caught my attention, the fact I connected with it and if I'd had the energy I'd have done a dance when I came up with the title. It's a nice throwaway idea, no investment but fun :)
