The Magic Lamp
Late one sultry summer night
to curiosity’s allure
I stumbled on a pure delight
a hidden treasure to be sure.
Tucked away and out of view
surrounded there by dark and damp,
but something my attention drew
and there I found a magic lamp.
Elated by this lucky find
my mind this treasure did enchant,
and if I rub while stars aligned
perhaps my wishes it may grant.
Rubbing gently with delight
as my anticipations grew,
then late one sultry summer night
all my fantasies came true.
