The Lost Sounds of War
Each morning reveille would play a symbol of the duty day
Each evening taps would play we would salute our flag
Taps are played at military funerals a salute is rendered for the dead
In war theses sounds of taps are silent when one dies
Boys and now girls turning into men and women killing others
Boys and now girls dieing for peace with the silent sounds of taps
With flags draped over their coffins and no sound to be heard
Dying for their country without one last word
Tears flow like rain as they hear the sounds of taps
Slowly lowering the casket never to be seen again
A white stone placed on top with a few words said
But the stories of war lay dead under the ground
All through history there has been war killing the living
We have even created a bomb that could destroy man
How large would that grave have to be?
What would that white stone say above the grave?
Man has died and no life left now peace can finally rest
