flash forward to the rot all perfection spoils in a myriad of ways a perishable item should not be idolised nor allowed to take over a space for a moment though I understood placed the flat of my hand on the surface found a heart beating sat present with myself I breathed slowly and intentionally while everything was fresh as light streamed in all too quickly shadows drop its darkness will mingle with mine there will be nowhere to rest in this all-consumed space until the idol rots down

I was thinking this morning that I have not read an Ekphrasis by you for a while. Interesting subject - a bit like the elephant in the room ... I enjoyed the journey of thoughts. The painting, 'The Son of Man', by Rene Magritte has an incongrious title for me. DD :)

I've usually got one in the pipeline and I'm possibly at the stage now where I could fill one or more books with them (if indeed there were a market for such things or an inclination on my part - both a negative). Your comment gave me cause to read a bit of Magritte's bio and it's fascinating. Very much the trauma induced artist. Thank you for stopping by, always appreciated x
