The Land of Normal
To the Land of Normal I long to go -
a place I took for granted in my youth,
where pain and sorrow rarely did I know.
I don’t like much the land of my new truth.
Here winds of uncertainty often blow.
Oh, what I wouldn’t give to go back to
the Land of Normal. There spring flowers bloomed.
Is there some passageway I might go through
to lead me far away from feeling doomed?
Such pathway I would eagerly pursue!
Oh, to feel again upon my face
the Land of Normal’s sunlight streaming down -
its beams so very bright they could erase
the woes in which in my new world I drown -
now banished from my youth’s far sweeter place!
