The Lament

Written on 12/13/2022 By Gail R DeBole They invaded and built things so large. Didn’t they know that we were in charge? It’s been years since the fields were pure. We don’t know if there is a cure. We squawk all the time, and our families still grow. The invaders don't respect us and don't seem to know That they are all wrong and we geese are right. We don’t deserve this treatment and may have to fight. Please tell us why you built houses where we all live Right on our homeland and bathrooms - tell us, what gives?

Nature is not dependent on humans but humans are dependent on nature. Go figure. Great couplet Gail. Cheers - Gary

...and we are actually part of nature, but we prefer to think we aren't. That's why Mother Nature doesn't discriminate. Thanks so much for stopping by and providing support. - Have a wonderful week

Hi Deb, Thanks for letting me know your thoughts. We need to be able to share with the many species of animals that this world includes - that's for sure.

Love it! It may be retaliation for those splattering fly-overs. What goes around...etc. Seriously, we do need to be more responsible for sure. Forgetting that we are not all of creation -- and stop assuming that we are the best. Blessings, and happy New Year.

Hello Joe, Thanks for stopping by! Many of us humans complain about the mess and inconvenience the geese bring to us. (I have to admit to some complaining.) But the reverse is also true (LOL) because we arrive with our buildings and mess up their tranquil surroundings too.

I can understand the frustration of these geese who face loss of land due to 'progress' and commercialism, Gail. Reminds me of the novel "Watership Down". ~ Regards // paul

Hi Paul, Thank you for stopping by and letting me know your thoughts. We, humans, keep thinking that the world revolves around us. Nature demonstrates that this is not true. - Happy New Year, Gail
