The Kiss

The Kiss
Painting by Gustav Klimt
Thy tender embrace
The way you cup my face
Your gaze that meets mine
Takes me to a place without time
I'm engulfed in your arms
Weak from your charms
This moment, this kiss
Lost in the abyss
The weave of the clothes covering our skin
Is not as closely bound as the love felt within
You and I seem held forever in this pose
Eternity or fleeting moment, no one knows
I knew all that I needed to, right there and then
And I would be there, forever, again
