flash of blue on wing poacher’s gun scares this shy bird rabbit takes to ground I wrote a poem for Tania's blue Jay contest but also wrote this about the jay we see in the UK - it is a member of the crow family 05/17/20

Great haiku, dear Jan. It's nice to know what you picture when you think of jays. He kind of has a smile like the Joker from Batman! Lovely little streaks of color on the wings. Thank you!

Neither birds nor rabbits are safe from hunters' guns! I have never seen a jay like this one, but not surprised since we do not have so many birds over here. Hugs // paul

They are really shy Tom, this one was called 'the pebble mill jay' as it lived in the trees by the tv studio which was near to where we lived:-) hugs Jan xx

Its a member of the crow family I have never seen one on our Island but we used to have one visit our bird table when we lived on the UK mainland:-) hugs Jan xx

True Rico, when we lived in the UK mainland we used to have a jay visit our bird table but even a door opening would scare it away into the trees:-( not seen one on our Island:-( hugs Jan xx
