The Invisible Friend
Looking at the river in flow,
not stopping to wash the plateau,
I recalled the age-old saying,
the truth, a true friend one would know.
It’s long time at spring dusk we met
at river front, at hued sunset,
saw trust gleam in your godly eyes,
its lasting shine our bond would get.
Way out of distress I couldn’t find,
as my shadow you got defined,
your invisible hands held mine,
took me to light, I trailed you blind.
When I turned debris of sorrow,
how to rise again I didn’t know,
you came then like a butterfly,
with you I flew, wings I could grow.
The full moon flashed on river bright,
sense of my life flowed in delight,
we swam as one to divine sea
with the eternal shore in sight.
