Notes About The Poem

The Holy Bible

***

                               In this humble little purse.
Contains God's word and holy verse.
It is more precious than silver or gold.
It is the food to feed your soul.
So, if you're in need of a word from the Lord.
Just open this up and find your reward.

                                   ~ The Holy Bible ~

On May 3, 1999, I wrote this verse.
This was the first poem I ever wrote.
My Bible case now has it printed on it.
(The cover of my Bible is seen above.)

Hi, Kim, The pastor of my church told me to never stop writing poetry. This verse is a reminder that when God is in it, all things are possible. Matthew 19:26. Thanks you for your kind words of encouragement. Blessings ~ Debra

Thank you, BJ. You are too kind. Back in 1999, I wrote this poem for a Mother's Day dinner for the ladies in our church. My pastor's wife always had one every year. The theme that year was "Mother's Hands." She asked each of us to decorate a table with that theme. Of course, I picked the theme "purses". That's when I wrote the poem and taped it on the case, and later had it painted on the case. Thanks for taking the time to comment. Blessings ~ Debra
