Dawn pierces the heart of night,
with lances of fiery light.
And where clouds bleed scarlet blood,
trickles morph into a flood.
Shadows emerge from the dark
behind every tree and stone.
And fleeing a night layed stark,
shift into shapes of their own.
Songbirds serenade the sun,
a brand new day has begun.
And it's welcomed with a song;
while hummingbirds hum along.
Sunbeams saturate the scene,
where ebony shadows green.
And color spills from the light,
inking everything in sight.
