The Have To Had Enjoyed the Same Eclectic Taste As I and My Son Have
b ONE NIGHT BAND
She was just going to be a one-night stand
But I felt the sun when she held my hand
And as the old story goes, then came three
Because the woman had a way with me
She knew just when to smile or summon sensitive tears
All I can say is I believed a one-night stand could last for years
When I planned this date I never gave it much thought
And the lady wasn’t one to be purchased, sold or bought
No, she was of refinement born and slinky in form and shape
And that’s when I learned that one-night stands are often difficult to escape
I tipped a ten to the piano player as we exited the bar
And the heat started before I put the heat on in the car
The darkest strands hung as her hair akin to a waterfall
And the heat increased as we made it further down my apartment’s hall
When they opened the door I swear I heard a symphonic and wondrous band
And now twenty years later I remember it was supposed to be just a one-night stand
