Notes About The Poem

The Harvest Dance

The hills have come alive today,
with the dancing of the leaves.
The wind was playing songs of love,
 it really was unique!

To see them waltz across the sky,
then stop, and off they'd fly.
They'd do a dip and take a bow,
as the next pair flutters by.

The birds were perched up in the trees,
 to see this autumn show.
They'd cheer and sing their melodies
with the wind as it would blow.

The oaks and elms and maple trees,
have all joined in the show.
They'd dressed their leaves so festively,
they drop them and they'd blow.

This is a magical season in time,
the Harvest dance comes but once a year.
Once the trees lose their leaves,
 then winter will soon appear.

Hi! Paul, I have poems on Family Friend Poems. This poem was rejected by them. I guess their loss is PS's gain as it was published in their book (P.S. Anthology II). I really like it here on Soup. I can talk to the poets themselves. I will eventually bring all my poems over to soup. Thanks Paul. I enjoyed talking to you. Blessings ~ Debra

Autumn is perhaps the best season when each leaf on trees turns into a flower. You have caught the spirit of this harvest season very well !
