The Gospel of Thomas Saying Two
He said, “Those who seek should not stop seeking
until they find. When they find, they will be disturbed.
When they are disturbed, they will marvel, and will rule
over all.”
There was a Sheila who sought an ideal man named Chad,
yet no man named Chad proved to be her perfect ideal
for only a perfect Chad would do.
There was a man called Chad who sought a paragon
called Sheila, yet no maiden called Sheila
proved to be his ideal.
One day Chad gave up looking for a perfect Sheila.
He relaxed and ceased his seeking,
at that point Sheila found him.
Both were greatly disturbed, discovering at last
they had known each other all along.
They rejoiced greatly and the people saw they
held a power that the world could not possess.
