The Give Up Girl

She thought it would be easy but it was difficult. So she gave up. It became her go-to pattern. Try. Too hard. Give up. Try. Too hard. Give up. Sadly after a few years she stopped trying. What was the use? Why be disappointed? Did no one tell her that The Diary of Anne Frank was rejected fifteen times? Did no one mention that Edison recorded 9,999 failed experiments before he created the light bulb? Did not one remember that Picasso only sold one painting? To his brother? Apparently not.

Yep, hundreds and hundreds of examples. I have boxes of rejection letters before I sold my first piece of writing. Then, they conveniently forgot to send me a check, and it was too small of a one to worry about.
