The Fire Inside
I pace the floor in a downward spiral;
sinking down to the floor.
I burst into feelings of worry, anxiety
my head in my hands
weighed down with
the fire inside.
I am swallowed down by rot,
smothered in riddles
feeble, shallow, and weak.
Dare you to transform me;
I decline to be in a sea of roaring waves
to drown me in a flood of tears.
No longer pretending all will be well.
Times I felt so alone.
Through it all I've learned strength
I've learned to depend in my Lord
wise and graceful as he is divine.
