The Fear of Loving

I believe in life we all have endured the pain of loving someone so deeply, that you fear to love again. When you gave your all to someone that truly didn’t value you as a person, the fear to love again certainly creeps up. The fear to be vulnerable again and letting your guard down isn’t as easy as someone might think. The fear of loving someone else without getting hurt can cause some distress because of all the unknowns. The fear of loving someone that one believed only existed in a fairy tale, and it has become a reality in one’s life. The fear of loving someone and hoping that they stay and not leave. The fear of holding them so tight because the pain of losing them will destroy you. The fear of loving is allowing someone inside into your deepest secrets and the reality of it, is allowing them into your heart. The fear of loving is being able to free your mind and heart and to let the unknowns alone, but allow each moment to be as if it were your last. The fear of letting go and allowing your heart to see that it’s absolutely okay to love again, it’s what makes us human.
