The eternal question - God, no God, maybe God

Made in God’s image, we are living light
We affirm since we’ve been, seen and so known
We have seen God face to face, in plain sight
All was revealed when we chose to atone

Recognising the transience of earth life
Weary of chasing objects of desire
One day we turned our back on needless strife
And set out to find God, our heart on fire

We began by purifying our heart
Becoming so to speak, a child again
Deeming all souls one, none standing apart
Was our chosen path to be free from pain

No sooner we began, thus with elan
Holy Spirit aligned with our soul’s plan

Holy Spirit aligned with our soul’s plan
The kundalini rose from root to crown
This happenstance required no middleman
All we can say is God didn’t let us down

Wisdom of the sages then became ours
Polarities balanced, bliss was imbibed
Our meditation stretched into long hours
Symbol of Om was on our heart inscribed

As we evolved, our karma was dissolved
With thoughts mostly rested, ego too died
Conflicts of the past, were by love resolved
We transcended isms, which to us had lied

This dream we call life, flowed on by itself
In time we beheld light of our true Self

In time we beheld light of our true Self
Formless presence, standing outside space-time
Poised in peace, no agenda on our shelf
No mountains remained we needed to climb

Enjoying full freedom and self-aware
Our Self was immersed in the heart of God
We grew in love no sooner we did pair
Seeing this in slow motion left us awed

As God’s child, our soul’s journey yet goes on
God’s desire is that we should be as He
Living in the now, with each breath reborn
That God dwells in all hearts, we clearly see

Entwined with rapture of bliss beat’s delight
Made in God’s image, we are living light

That last line is the ultimate! It's quite a Journey when we seek to know God and to be known. You've expressed that in your usual lovely language and intimate thoughts. Thank you for sharing and congratulations! Xo

Dear US, Congrats on taking 5th in my poetry contest. I love how your poem is a luminous journey through the eternal questions of faith, self-realization, and the nature of the Divine. I like how you trace the arc from existential searching and atonement, through the purification of the heart and unity with all souls, to the profound awakening described in spiritual traditions as the rising of kundalini energy. This awakening, where the dormant energy ascends from root to crown, mirrors your lines about the Holy Spirit aligning with the soul’s plan, bringing bliss, clarity, and ego dissolution. The poem’s conclusion, where you behold the “light of our true Self” and rest in formless presence, aligns with the highest aims of these traditions, realizing our unity with God, transcending dualities, and living as “living light” in the now. Spring Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel
