Ents are a race of beings created for J. R. R. Tolkien's fantasy world, Middle-earth. Ents closely resemble trees, and they appear in The Lord of the Rings. They are based on the many myths and stories about talking trees that appear in folklore around the world.

Imagine if seeds of trees hatched to Ents. Seedlings with two trunks for legs and feet with roots for toes. Bodies all covered in bark, branches for arms, with finger of shoots and leaves. Head on the trunk with eyes, nose, ears and mouth cut into the bark. Meet the Ents, pre-tree creatures, half-man, half-tree, destined to mature into trees when two-score rings old and more, by simply slowing down as they age, and their roots tap into the ground. Ents can talk and sing their arbor songs; they have ears and hear what you say. So talk to the Ents and Trees and give them a hug.
