The Engulfing Silence
In the engulfing silence,
I can only close my eyes and hug myself
The agony of existence weighs heavily on my soul
So much that living feels like a burden!
But then, stars twinkle and dance
Reminding me that life has an aim
Even if one so subtle, and,
That I should bother not about its pains,
For life acts as such as she is pained herself
And can only pour upon us
Her miserable gloom!
Why, stars twinkle and bid the moon to sing
Of the mysticism that surrounds us all,
Mortal beings having been gifted with an elevated consciousness
And I, can only open my eyes
To let my tears flows
Tears of freedom, tears of bondage
Tears of joy, tears of misery
Tears of submission, tears of rebellion
Tears of love, tears of resentment
Tears of forgiveness, tears of blame!
Pray, in the engulfing silence of the night
Set free, I can only succumb to the stars' show
And to the moon's music
As they push me to drown into nocturnal reveries!
