The Eight Magic Years
You will have approximately eight years to do what you want.
So paint, laugh, dance, sing, eat your favorite foods,
and travel everywhere you ever wanted to go.
May I suggest Las Vegas?
You will never see any place like this again.
There are only eight years to do it all, so do it ALL.
Forty-five to fifty two for me was child-free.
As soon as grandchildren are here, life will be all about them,
As it was all about your children, so enjoy those eight years before...
The cycle of being on demand and command begins all over again.
It is delightful, and insightful, and it will keep you young.
But make the best use of time between children and grandchildren.
For it does not last a life time, only a mere eight years.
Eight glorious wonderful exciting fun years!
I am not saying you will not have plenty of me time,
For you will. Especially if there is a pandemic.
Which I hope there will not be.
I wish for you to have another fifty years, pandemic-free.
Happy birthday!
