The Discovery
I have discovered
a peaceful place within my being.
No longer a prisoner of my own fears.
Fears that crippled and devoured
my spirit for years.
At ease with myself
in this place in time,
no feelings of dependence,
a feeling most sublime.
No more my existence
and emotions, do you control.
In my own decisions, my own destiny,
will I play the leading role.
Freedom so dear is now within touch.
My spirit soaring
with hope and promise,
the sustenance needed so much.
A fading shadow of what once was ,
your eyes will be seeing,
as I grow and thrive
in this place, I have discovered,
within my own being.
