The Dilemma

A man and woman are making their way to the airport to start their vacation. Come upon a girl who says, “Dear sir I pray, can you help me with my dire situation? My car has broke down and I need a hand, dear sir, and I can continue to go.” He replies to her, “This trip was a plan made by my wife and I six months ago. Sorry we can’t help, we might miss our flight which would cut our vacation a day short.” But - the good book says this wouldn’t be right; we must give our neighbor our support. Faced with this dilemma what would you say; would you so respond in a Christian way?

I would try and help her but would be more of given advice as in names of breakdown firms or ringing one for her as know nothing about fixing a car. Hugs, Emilia : )

I write a lot of sonnets, one of my favorite forms; this was my very first. As I re-read it, it needs a lot of work, but my message is good. Thanks for reading, Emilia. Hugs, John

Fascinating. The end of this poem is a question regarding humanity and our faith in God. Let the debate rage on!

An entity such as God places situations like this before us to guage who we are. I agree, it's a plan. Ultimately, challenges are sent for our betterment. Nicely written proposition, clear andvto the point.

Thank you, Sigrid, I appreciate you taking time to read my older works. I had only been writing about six months when I wrote this poem, my poetry has come a long way in three years. John

Ask her if she wants to go on vacation with you. Maybe sipping margaritas on the shores of Tahiti suits her fancy rather than fixing her car (that can wait) and heck, the wife wouldn't mind, would she?

A powerful example of how we *should* behave, as Christians.

I think we all need to take a step back from time to time and look at our actions. We will all have to account for them sooner or later.
