I have always had a vivid imagination, as a child, I could make up stories in my head; then, I began to write them down on paper, but a story was too long, so poetry was the answer. Now, even at night watching the moon, I am taken away on a fantasy journey beyond; especially, a full moon, so mysterious and soothing, I let it take me until the birds are calling. Sometimes, I stand on top of a mountain, with a view of valleys and streams flowing below; it is like I can touch the clouds, fly with the birds, and in my trance, I let myself fall, fall, falling. A river is roaring past me as I stand still, among the towering trees, and I hear him coming; a beautiful velvet brown horse running towards me, he stops and I get on and away we gallop. But, there are also things in the shadows, things that frighten me and things lurking; I must be careful in this dreamy infinite world, for there are evil spirits waiting for my soul. The darkest hour is just before dawn, when I must fight my way back into reality; I have a dreadful fear that one day, I will be lost, in the depth of my imagination. ______________________ September 27, 2017 Verse/The Depth of my Imagination Copyright Protected, ID 945166 Written for the contest, Image Me A Poem sponsor, Mystic Rose First Place

MY FRIEND, THIS IS CLASSIC GOLDEN POETRY... Self revelation and depths too oft others shun in their writings! Appears we both walk imaginary lands in our dreams and live to write about such.. A fav.. an amazing display of poetic talent!

Wow, Constance, you surely have amazed me by your glorious verse here! I loved how you integrated the horse into the poem, that was very awesome! May you always find you way back into reality my friend, being in your imagination for awhile is one thing, but to be lost in it, forever, is another! What a tremendous piece, Great Work!!
