Feeling fear, it darts around In my head, a creepy sound Exposing thoughts, metaphorically Mastery over my pensive reality My lover, once so sweet Now a haunting presence I can't beat His eyes, once filled with love Now hold a gaze I can't rise above I strain to leave, to break free But his hold on me won't release He follows me, wherever I flow A shadowy figure, a ghostly show His touch sends shivers down my spine I wish I could turn back time When his love was pure and true Before I knew what he could do So now I live in constant fear Of the lover who once held me dear I pray for strength to break away And cease this nightmare, today.

Such a tragedy that lovers can change over time, and can become controlling and cause fear to rise up in us. The break away will take courage and thought because a controlling person can be a very dangerous person when abandoned in their mind. A poem to be thought upon as a warning to be careful who we become involved with. Thanks for sharing in such a deep and emotion moving way, my friend. Bill
