The Country Road
I was born free.
Brought up in a cultured way.
Thought me right and hid me from wrong
A certain stage of life came.
Where I was left to lead my path.
I came to a junction.
Where I was to take a path.
And I ask myself.
Where will I go?
Many choices await me.
But, I choose a path,
There was a country road.
And there was a path to glory.
Friends where there to guide me;
Down a narrow dark street,
But, when it was all over,
I turn back,
And they was no one to help me
And I was left empty.
I stand a chance to choose,
But, I act like I don't know,
Where was I heading to;
Down the country road or the glorious path.
