The Channukah Lights

What do you see in the Channukah lights? I see a proud people willing to fight To restore their defiled Temple's rites What do you see in the Channukah menorah? I see a learned people defending their Torah From those who would dim the luster of its aura What do you see in the Channukah lamp? I see brave warriors in the Macabees' camp Whose ardor the mighty Greek army could not damp What do you see in the Channukah flame? I see a holiday that the Sages proclaimed To perpetuate the sanctity of His Holy Name What do you see in the Channukah lights? I see a miracle, an extraordinary sight A day's worth of oil that burned for eight nights
