The Bulldozer and Aging Religion

Walking the path I know to be the way
The path in which I was born
There comes a bulldozer
Making me a new way

Ruffling my smooth way, my religion
With flimsy sand of thoughts
and glory
Promising life in death and fulfilment
The new Islam seems brilliant,
luxurious, exotic and rubbish
comes with rejection of
many things, sunnah

My aging Islam, a pleasant
smiles with tolerance
warm accommodation

I stand on a point in the labyrinth
listening to the songs
of both paths
they both sing in a tone
That makes me lost
Of which part to take.

Not easy but probably the one with the strongest feeling? The one your heart desires most :)

I can link with this. Changes are brought for the better and not for segregation of thoughts and freedom. After all we are all human! Glad you shared this with us. All the best. :) Sunita

Very interesting, Afolabi. Follow the path that offers the most tolerance of others with love and peace! Love your symbolic poem.

Making choices is not always easy, Afolabi. We seek to follow the truth, but extremism can be unhealthy. Follow your heart and mind... Regards // paul

A dilemma for any thinking man of any religion. Love should always be the guiding principle to any faith. Without it there is but chaos...
