The Beauty of Poetry
The beauty of poetry
is the ambiguity
of words,
one man’s pleasure
being another’s poison
and all that.
Words thus become
the portal
for a soul to pass,
not just in entrance
and exit,
but in exploration and
play, fantasy and transcendence,
again and again
in fact,
back and forth,
in and out,
until
there is no charge,
no value placed
on one or the other.
The beauty of poetry is that it follows this path
and shows us each
where we happen to be.
