The Banquet

Plaid of red and white has been smoothed o’er grass; feet have been freed from Mary Jane flats. Above, the sun, secretly admits their smiles have triumphed over the brilliance of his rays. Wicker baskets home blueberries and pears, and camembert resting in rosemary bread; sausages from veal, herbed and spiced, are sweetened with maple: much to their delight. Who would forget that sumptuous dessert- chocolate tart with caramel glaze? Fin’lly, the part anticipated by all: strawberry wine with maraschino swirl. “Cheers!” they say as crystals kiss for toast; “even rain this day, would merely make us waltz.”
