I feel no need of anonymity to come here and confess my biggest sin. I crave too much my junk food, certainly, but eating it has not yet done me in! I count my calories and do not smoke; I exercise and never do I drink. I’ve not had drugs, not even one small toke, so why no time for dishes in my sink? Because my passions rule me! No. . . not flings! It’s emails, books and films that take my time. I’ve too much fondness for too many things, like how I love to sit and make a rhyme. . . For there’s one thing that overwhelmingly consumes me and its name is poetry! For Anne Currin's Confessions of a Poetry Souper Contest

Very nice poem, Andrea. And true no doubt for many of us. You have a way with words and these sonnets are a carousel that twirls around in our hearts. You probably think and speak in 10 syllable lines. Can relate for sure.... Robert.

Good show. Alas I have all your listed vices -. I should say have had. For years I combined all - a bottle of wine, cigarettes, music on the hi-fi, and poetry on my mind, a pen in my hand over a notebook. Congrats on the selection. LOve, daver

Ah. A poem I have not read. After reading this poem, I must congratulate you on your intelligence. So you count calories? How many cals can you consume a day without gaining weight. I am an expert on weight loss, having lost 100 pounds twice in my lifetime. Alas,I am not an expert at keeping the weight off once I've lost it. Love,Dave

No smoking? No booze? No drugs? My God, you are the worlds healthiest mortal! Alas I have all of these failings, including the junk food and the poetry. I've kicked the first three and rarely indulge in the fourth. My congratulations on your wisdom and this fine poem. Love, Dave

I do believe that it can become an addiction. We have to do all things in moderation. I know that you are speaking from humorous voice here. Keep the laughter flowing from your pen. Sara

I love this! How true....real poets get carried away with this art that at times seems obsessive. (big smile). Very fun poem! Mahalo, Connie
