That sinking feeling Like weights added to the bar You’re trying to press Above your head It’s too heavy This wearisome weight The sinking feels Like liquid dripping Drip drip drip Relentlessly dripping Reminding revealing releasing The pangs of panic Lacking any relief Grief welcomes your tears Splashing soft against A smooth cheek Coloring the mind black Blanketing the heart In hues of melancholy Gray blue dread It is always this Sinking feeling That reveals your guilt To the empty soul

Nice... Guilt is like a gift that keeps on giving.

Guilt is so horrible; it can ruin weeks at a time. I clearly felt this in your missive.

OUCH!!! My mom always told us that: "the truth only hurts when it's supposed to." .... this one stung a bit as I know, all too well, those times of emptiness. Great write Regina
