That was then, this is now

We'd look up at the stars on summer nights, connecting with the universe somehow. And we'd camp out away from city lights, two best friends living on the edge of wow. The world was our oyster; we dove for pearls and left our fortunes in the hands of fate. But then we started fighting over girls; what we used to love, we began to hate. We drifted apart and said no goodbyes; but that was then; this is now; we have changed. We're no longer those hormone-driven guys, and I believe our friendship got short-changed. We’ve lost too much time already, my friend; our childhood friendship need not have to end.

Hello Emile, I also wished that my childhood friendships did not end. But they did slowly. Strange how that is. My friend enjoy your day. /Darlene/

Hello Emile, It is cold here today. We had some snow flurries today. It melted as it touched the ground. Enjoy your evening my friend. /Darlene/

Emile, Enduring friendships of yesterday wished, for changed and grown survivors of now. That seems an honorable trade to reckon with the forces of time. -Richard
