Thankful Tree
The sun softly stirs me out of my dream.
I sleepily yawn as I stretch to the clouds.
My roots dig deep into the lower soil for breakfast.
Now,. my bark is healthy and my life happy.from
both the sun and rain.
Remembering those of my immediate family who
did not survive makes me sad.
I cry with the afternoon rain drops this day.
Some could not get enough sun, food or water.
Others were cut down savagely in there young life.
Today is to be thankful for my life and job.
Beep, beep are the sweet sounds of the colorful
inhabitants of my branches.
They give me beauty and peace.
I excell in cleaning the air for humans to breath.
My favorite time of the year is fall.
It was almost a tiie wiith springs budding flowers.
The glorious change of colors on my leaves.in autumn.
The joyous smiles it gives people gives me
glee all the way down to the bottom
of my soul.
