For Emile Pinet's Sonnet Lipogram poetry contest. To write a sonnet without the letter 'A'.
In the term of birth, fields begin to mend.
Tough soil softens in tones of brown umber,
Insects wriggle to rejoice winter's end.
Spiders spin webs, rising from their slumber.
Virgin trees rock gently in morning breeze,
yellow snowdrops greet tulips with bluebells.
Fresh flowers entice butterflies with bees,
seducing senses through hypnotic spells.
Sweet chorus of robins, trills through blue sky.
Their songs echo in golden morning hues.
Clouds hover in puffs of ivory dye.
Sun glows, inspiring my poetic muse.
Cherry blossoms look so perfect in pink
but their brief life, ponders the mind to think.
