Tender is the Touch

Tender is the touch of her hands as she tucks her baby into his crib Tender is the kiss she plants on his cheek as he’s off to war too young and so weak Tender are the tears she will not let descend her baby in the battle zone without a single friend Tender are the tears she weeps o'er his grave If only, if only ~ he had not been so brave
