Tell Me
Tell me what your heart said,
and your lips did not.
mind reading can be fallible,
judging the temperature of your thoughts
a hit or miss occupation.
There was a time
when we finished each other’s sentences,
we used to hold that up as proof of Sympatico.
Now you speak to someone
in another room in your mind,
it’s a person that used to be
more tuned-in to you maybe,
not this me right here.
I believe there’s another place
where love still listens through the ears of God.
We just got too far away from the truth.
