Teething Troubles - Scared Witless - Warning Contains Humour

The dentist’s poised wearing his gown I’m anxious, my face wears a frown He’ll pull out my tooth (Assisted by Ruth) I’m thankful my panties are brown! He powered up his dental drill The noise from it made me feel ill Bad tooth he requires He’ll pull it with pliers Then present me with a huge bill Of dental issues I’m now wary - I find gum injections quite scary I should have asked Ruth To save my bad tooth For redemption with the tooth fairy! I only wish my appointment had been at tooth hurty and not at 5pm! 06/28/21

Ha ha. I recently wrote a ditty about my favourite movie line... ‘The guy sure looks like plant food to me’ from Little Shop Of Horrors’. Why is this relevant? Because in that movie, Steve Martin plays a hilarious evil dentist. If you’re not familiar with it, the whole movie is fun, but at least look up the dentist song. Terry

I dislike going to the dentist also, yes and it is true, paid torture almost self inflicted and then they still expect us to pay for all the torment and pain - A truly enjoyable read Jan. Hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

I have never forgotten my sister's black & blue face after a dentist pulled her teeth back in the day before injections, so be very happy you did not endure that - and that you could treat yourself to ice cream! What a joy! Aloha! Rico

I spent the next day with a migraine and throwing up lol am much better since this morning and yes i treated myself to some ice cream tonight:-) hugs jan xx

Oh I feel your pain, dear Jan (I've had 6 teeth extracted). But I love your ability to turn life's agonies into priceless humour. You are such a gift! Glad you made it through the ordeal and I hope you heal quickly. Thank for the grins and giggles. Hugs ~ John

OUCH John, that can't have been an easy thing to have done, one was bad enough! I try and write funny poems to make others smile - i couldnt when i wrote it my mouth was too frozen, had to laugh I can eat ice cream - why when my mouth frozen already. am craving a cuppa but got to wait 48 hours:-( hugs jan xx

thanks Kim i was up at 5 couldn't sleep, am just glad the procedure is over having to wait until late afternoon was hard, we did charity work in the morning but i found it hard to focus:-( hugs jan xx

Well done Jan, no one likes going to the dentist and having a tooth out is scary, the bill is enough to make one feel ill. I hope you get a visit from the tooth fairy. Love the Lims… Hugs Belle xx

wish i'd got the tooth lol friend was telling me their daughter gets £5 lol:-) am okish - no hot food for drinks for 48 hrs to give it time to heal, thanks for your advice and mails i do appreciate your support xx

Good stuff, Jan. I particularly love the tooth hurty (for 2:30). You have a fantastic sense of humor, even when writing about a trip to the dentist. We all hate going to the dentist!

Thanks Milt, i do try and find humour in as many things as possible its what gets me through challenging times:-) I HAD to get over my fear of the dentist as i didnt want my son to worry. i found a sympathetic dentist and have never looked back - this is only the 3rd time i have seen the guy who pulled my tooth today so all in all i did very well except for a slight wobble at the second injection:-) hugs jan xx

No tooth fairy can cover the expense of a dentist. I hope you're healing nicely and have eaten all the ice cream you want. Hugs for being brave.

Thanks Jenna I've had nothing but water since I got home and taken antibiotics for the infection in my gum, no ice cream today lol I think my mouth has been frozen enough with 2 injections - that was the worst part:-( got some natural yoghurt and stewed apricots for if i am hungry later:-) thanks for your support today it was much appreciated am hoping to be more active on the site this week - as I said in my other poem no one knows what is going on in our lives away from the soup opera:-) hugs jan xx

I have managed to get over my needle phobia for blood tests and thought i would be ok with the gum injection but unfortunately it didnt freeze my mouth to the desired level and he had to do it again and i went white and felt faint - but they got hubby to sit in the room at a distance which calmed me down and they did the porcedure with no problem, got to be honest i was 'scared witless; if you get my drift lol:-) hugs jan xx
