Teen's Court In Section
Entered the court hall at 8:30 a.m.
Sit and Sit and nothing began.
Every name called as I patiently waited.
I was beginning to wander was his name on the slate.
He was finally called at 11:15 a.m.
The judge acknowledged mom and the charges were read.
Nathaniel tried hard to plead his case.
The judge listen closely but would not break.
“I’ve given you chances time after time.
Am I crazy or are you so blind?”
You’re going to school and not learning a thing.
Disturbing others and causing a scene.”
The public defender tried to speak up for him.
Wanted the charges drop so he could remain free.
The judge stood his ground and would not bend.
Looked at the mom and said, What should I do?
Mom help me out, I need to hear from you.
Mom spoke up -He did break the rules.
He made a mistake with the choices he made.
I can not uphold him in the wrong that he done.
He must learn from his mistakes although they were wrong.
I will agree with you Judge with the decision you made.
Nathaniel dropped his head to the ground.
He needs to learn this is his wake up call.
He will be detained thirty days in juvenile hall.
He will go to school there and bring up his grades.
Learn to make wise choices was what the judge said.
11-30-07 took the papers back to court. Nathaniel thought he was going to come
home…Wrong….He did the crime..so he must do the time. Tough Love..It hurts but he must
learn from his mistakes.
