Take My Breath Away

"Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the number of moments that take your breath away." It was more the picture frame than the saying in its center that grabbed my attention as I shopped. Now, as I look at it on my living room wall, I realize the photos I carefully chose for my montage do depict moments that took my breath away: daughter participating in sports, dressed for prom, receiving college degree, saying "I do," holding newborn daughter, then newborn son; birthday, wedding, and Christmas scenes; grandkids receiving awards at school, singing in church programs, smiling for me; best times during family vacations . . . . These treasures--and hundreds more!--occupy a small portion of my living room wall, representing a tiny fraction of my precious memories. All my picture frames and albums, plus all I might ever add to my collection, will be inadequate to hold all the wonders of life. Knowing this takes my breath away--at this very moment!
