Take It From Me

As I measure the night By my souls depth Close to distilling my worth The answer seemingly within my grasp Dawn whispers in Scattering my thoughts Weariness becomes my heavy cloak The night that stretched before me Now too short for elucidation Then I must wander the realm of day Eyes forced open by the light In an unquestioning state Yet wishing to calculate exactly How long a thought takes Aware I alternate Between traipsing the linear path Not stopping long enough to think Or looping the loop Lost in a thought that has no beginning and no end *The title is a subtle thank you, as I may have borrowed one line, with retrospective permission, from another poet

The journeying, glimpses in the dark, even day doesn't have the answers, familiar mind state and one that reflects the modern condition. And yet, perhaps, something at the end of all the words, then at least this us the dream of poets. This one chimes the doorbell...

You'd hope so, perhaps the answer is there's not one and I should stop faffing around waiting for eureka moments haha (I don't know the expression to chime the doorbell, but presume it's meaning is that you get my drift). Thanks once again for taking the time to read my inner monologue musings
