"Mid pleasures and palaces though we may roam
Be it ever so humble, there's no place like home !
A charm from the skies seems to hallow us there
Which seek thro' the world, is ne'er met elsewhere!"
by_ John Howard Payne, 1823
(Home! Sweet Home!) Song
________________
Oh, I recall the home of my childhood,
and those beautiful glassed French doors,
the sliding on shiny floors made of dark wood !
My sweet bedroom had an antique chest of drawers,
oh, a mansion like front staircase spiraled up, up, up, up,
and I will never forget the nooks where games were made-up !
