Poet's note: Surrealism is characterized by dreamlike imagery, symbolism and unexpected juxtaposition. The 1920's artistic movement celebrated imagination over realism and the incorporation of fantasy and strangeness in a work. *This text taken from two articles; Surrealism: Meaning, Example, Characteristics - StudySmarter and Surrealism - Academy of American Poets*

I am lost in a world of chimera.... ! What all varied scenes are knit together to form a sunny, glowing surrealistic panorama. "she chases books as they sail from trees fingers stretch to net helter-skelter hummingbirds she leafs through slices of fruitcake each nutty page a silver frame of insane;" In her world of fancy, there are things to quench her mind's appetite and things to titillate her tongue! Here images cascade down one on another in an unbroken chain. I feel so humored and delighted by your freak of fancy. Great poetry as always, my highly gifted friend. Congratulations on your great win, dear Susan

Holy Salvador Dali, but isn't this the knees' bees?! I recommend a long rest, Susan, and no more 'bikini-weenie-teenie' or 'bored-ing surf'~ Dr. Q B Ism

Whoa this is beyond creative and artistic! I felt like i was observing a moving panorama of an artwork painted by one that has seen so much and beyond and captured them all into one! Surrealism at its finest! I bet if an artist sees this they would get inspired to paint what your words did convey! You have a way with words and inspiring readers. And this is no exception! Just love it! Especially “ nuns ride upside-down the roller-coaster rim dreamcatchers sticky and tricky as spiderwebs” made me smile hah! So clever! And brilliant! Your use of poetic techniques too here is impeccable. From assonance to metaphors and imagery to alliterations! Very imaginative take and can see why this scored well! Congratulations! Sending you light always

This poem is awesome and reminds me of a handful of songs that are not linear in composition. Imagery flows from your fantasy and emotions are high. Your poetry is of so high a quality that I'm always afraid to read, knowing my poor specimens. Best for a win.

your take on surrealism is whimsical, stunning, and filled with positive descriptions and images. Glad to read something that isn't so 'dark.' I loved this line and the visual you created: kites made of ruby and sapphire and pearl. I also liked 'tilling confetti rain and puppet gardens where wild-child wombs and peacock plumes bloom A delightful and enchanting poem. Have a great evening, Sara

Dearest Susan, you crafted a magical poem centered on a girl's exploration of her environment, which is filled with artistic and surreal themes, and which praises creativity, whimsy, and the beauty of nature. Your use of colorful metaphors and detailed words transports the reader to a fantastical realm. The use of the words "neon," "northern lights," "emeralds," "ruby," and "sapphire" conjures up images of fairytale magic. When inanimate things are personified, such in "crows croon" and "palm trees pull up anchor," they become alive. "The world needs more bumblebees" and "the moon jumps over the cow" are a couple of absurd and witty lines that add to the poem's whimsical tone.
