Surfing Lifetimes

it's like surfing; over lifetimes I can't remember, but carrying little pieces over, adding new drops to sugary, rolling waves, falling, riding; shouting occasionally at the devil or you when you're nearer

I enjoyed the metaphorical nature of this poem and the wisdom that comes with surfing lifetimes. I especially liked "adding new drops to sugary, rolling waves...' A pleasant read...have a great evening, Sara

I was immediately drawn in by the title. Upon reading it's funny the shared grasp poets take towards explaining 'knowing'. Yours is creative and engaging and the final line causes a slight laugh paired with a furrowed brow. I wonder at all the forms our 'shouts' take - hopefully mostly happily channeled into perfect little poems like this one.

Often in my poems I suggest someone else being present or that I'm engaging with, this is my metaphor for nature, mother earth or life itself - rarely is it actually another person, sounds like you picked up on that, with a furrowed brow haha, thanks for sharing your thoughts D
