Super Sunday

Now it’s Roethlisberger versus Rodgers
To escape sacks, they’ll have to be dodgers

   Two very strong defenses
   Big egos and pretenses

When the ball’s caught, they’ll try to dislodge her

There are only 60 minutes to play
But these games last four hours anyway

   Referee calls disputed
   Jeers from the crowd unmuted

But the instant replays will save the day

Diane Locksley,I love Me some football! I do not like Ben Worthlessburger. Thank you for sharing this cool poem and your really uplifting comments on my site. You are very nice to me and that helps! Life has been a little bad at times lately for me. I have struggled but nice people help me deal with things...sometimes. ~JS Lambert

It's too bad I didn't see this one before the Super Bowl. These are a nice pair of limericks that pervasively describe the most recent game as a team of two.

A female writing a poem about football? You should already be an instant winner of some contest. Let's see how many men like this one. Catchy phrases....except one thing....instant replays DO NOT save my day. The are played over and over and over til the rest of my day is ruined! ha ha. Thanks, Diane.

Oh my, American Football and this Highlander is so out of his depth. I had a funny feeling my poem about these lovely little birds would get a chuckle. The title was the carrot. Good luck in the contest run by Royal. She's a wee GEM. Have a lovely weekend....:)x

Don't you just love all the time outs for the replays? Funny poem, Diane. The defensive linemen can be very effective in their efforts to "dislodge her." Best wishes, Carolyn
